Aleequllah, who fought with the Najibullah government based in Kandahar lost both legs after stepping on a land mine. Aleequallah has never been married and survives by begging. The disabled are largely ignored, they are unable to find employment and receive 300 Afghanis ($6.00US) a month from the Ministry of Martyrs and Disabled (MOMD). November 1, 2006.
