Obstacles to my journey continue - so late in the season

The photos accompanying this post are from Sri Lanka. Despite the horror of the 2004 tsunami that hit Sir Lanka the women did not give in to despair but gathered, established community and thereby helped each other survive.

Their strength of will despite so many obstacles is my inspiration at this time.

As the blog is dedicated to taking my father who passed away on May 20th to take my car and travel to PEI to spread his ashes.

For some reason or another I have been blockaded by my conscience and physical obstacles to leave the Blackfalds, Red Deer area. From dishonest untrusting new buyers, who at the last minute decided though they wanted to move into the house and property before probate was granted did not want to pay a lease price. No they wanted to move in for free. Meanwhile I had allowed them to begin to paint the house, they stored their belongings for 6 weeks, picked raspberries and apples but no they did not want to pay rent while living there.

My sister has a terrible drinking problem which has now escalated to - well let’s not go into the details. I may need to take care of her affairs before I set out to PEI. Delay, oh just another month. Is something telling me to no go? If I were to read the signs from an outside perspective, that is what i would see.

Update tomorrow. I am going to Saskatoon, keeping a distant eye on my sister’s deteriorating condition. Alcohol is a cruel controller that once in the grip of its power tricks you into believing, for a moment, for a time, you are fine. She is not - I am trying to get her son to come and take care of her - I need a break for my own mental health.
